What happened: Prolonged power outages have hit several parts of Karachi since Wednesday morning. Areas that were exempted from load-shedding have also been hit by a power outage.
Background: Several areas of Karachi have been facing power outages since Wednesday morning. It has been reported that the power supply of the Cantt-Bazar and Drigh road area was cut off at 5:30 AM. Areas that were exempted from load-shedding have also been hit with power outages. The exempted areas include Tariq Bin Ziyad Housing Society, Shah Faisal Town, Karachi Admin Society, Saadi Town, and PECHS Block 2, who have been out of power since 9:00 AM
Despite the repeated filing of complaints with regards to power outages, electricity has not yet been restored in many areas of Karachi. Citizens also protested against load shedding near Gol Market and Nazimabad as they chanted slogans against K-electric.
