What happened:
2//Lt Usman Liaqat from 144L/C was kidnapped and murdered by his friends. Usman Liaqat was recently passed out from PMA, and ProperGaanda also did a report on it and included his passing out speech. ProperGaanda had an exclusive interview with Usman’s cousin, Rana Mubashir. He said that on the 17th of October, Usman went to the nearby barbershop and the laundry shop. Rana Mubashir said, “Around 17th of October, at 2:00 pm, Rana Tasswar(alleged murder), took him to the nearby of Kalurl Kot.” According to Usman’s cousin, Tasswar was Usman’s very old friend, and they had a close bond with each other.
His interview:
Rana Mubashir shared with ProperGaanda that the family had to go to a family gathering at their paternal aunt’s house in Karol Kot. He also told us, “Around 5:00 pm, when Usman did not return home, the family got worried and launched a search operation. During the search operation, the alleged murderer also helped us. After some time, when we could not find Usman, we suspected that Tasswar was involved, so we filed a complaint at the local police station.” Whereas, he said that the local police were not that compliant as, “Tasswar (alleged murderer) has a food joint opposite to the local police station and the police officers of that locality were often fed through that restaurant. We had to urge the police to conduct a search operation, but the next day on the 18th of October, the police called us made us sit the whole day in the police station, getting our interviews and everything, but they did not start the search operation.”
Details:
Rana Mubasshir claimed that Tassawar has admitted to killing Usman, but his motives are not yet confirmed, “Tasswar and Usman were on a bike when he shot Usman in the back, then at the neck, one at his chest, and one on Usman’s head.” He also told ProperGaanda, that “Tasswar has claimed of throwing Usman’s body in the Thal canal.”
Also:
Rana Mubasshir told ProperGaanda that the alleged murderer was blackmailing Usman’s younger brother, Hamza, and he suggested that Usman was going to take Tasswar to Hamza, so sort out the issue, but got into a heated argument that resulted in Usman getting murdered. Rana Mubasshir said, “After a few days of police not complying, Usman’s Father called the army, and they further confirmed that Tassawar murdered Usman.” He also claimed, “Pakistan army, military intelligence, and ISI, have been doing the search operation for past six days, but Usman’s body is nowhere to be found.” At the same time, Rana Mubashir said that currently, the canal is dried up, and about 21-22 rescue teams are operating in the area to find his body, but it is nowhere to be found.
His assumptions:
Rana Mubasshir claimed that he and his family had done some of their own research too, and they believe, “Usman is currently alive, and kept in a room, where he is being tortured because it has been six days and his body has not been found yet.”
