A journalist and YouTuber, Asad Ali Toor, was brutally beaten up by unidentified assailants outside his residence in Sector F-10 late on Tuesday night.

What Happened: According to a police official, some people came outside Mr. Toor’s residence located in an apartment building. These people thrashed Mr. Toor before fleeing the scene. Mr. Toor was moved to a private hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable. Narrating some of the details of the incident, he said through a video that the attackers had asked him about the source of his funds. The Response: Many people have raised their voices against the incident, claiming that journalists in Pakistan are routinely harassed and action should be taken to prevent such assaults.

In the last 48 hours there had been series of violent incidents against journalists and attack on Asad Ali Toor most serious of them all. No wonder why Islamabad has become the most dangerous city for journalists. These incidents should not go un-noticed.
