COAS: The Chief Of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa is already in Saudi Arabia on a 4 day visit ahead of the PM’s visit. He has met with top army officials in the Kingdom and also met with the Crown Prince in Jeddah. He assured Saudi Arabia of Pakistan’s forces support in the sovereignty of the Kingdom and Pakistan’s best interests to be custodians and protectors of the two holy cities.

The Saudi Crown Prince also ensured support for Pakistan in the role they play in the maintenance of stability and peace in the region.
Aims of visit: The aims of the visit by the PM and his delegation will be centered around strengthening ties between the two nations that have been strained in the recent past due to numerous reasons. A number of trade agreements and memorandums of agreement (MOUs) are expected to be signed between the two nations during the visit. Focus will also be laid on revitalizing ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia and what role Pakistan can play in this situation. Imran Khan expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the two countries when statements surfaced from both countries about intentions for better relations.

During his visit, the PM will also meet the custodians of the two Holy Mosques. Furthermore, another main aim of the visit is to meet with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen to discuss points of how to tackle Islamophobia and the issue of blasphemy in the West. Focus will be laid on the foundation and strengthening the ‘Muslim Ummah’.
