Daraz has partnered with Femprow to elevate 2000+ women entrepreneurs in Pakistan

Daraz and Nadia Patel Gangjee’s social enterprise, Femprow, have come together to assist the newly registered female sellers in establishing their shops on the platform and therefore, boost the growth of their businesses in terms of sales and reach with the help of Daraz’ monthly userbase of 6,000,000.

What Happened: Ammar Hassan, CMO, Daraz, and Nadia Patel Gangjee, Founder & CEO, Femprow, signed an agreement to strengthen the community of women entrepreneurs in the country by launching customized training targeted to help these sellers improve in the areas of business ethics and understand the importance and strategies of social media marketing. Femprow’s growing community of women entrepreneurs also got more than 150 female entrepreneurs to register from their platform who will be facilitated with this partnership to establish stores on Daraz, allowing them to utilize the biggest online marketplace in Pakistan. Since Daraz announced the launch of a mission to empower local female entrepreneurs through its platform, 2000+ female sellers have registered for the program and will be able to curate an online market for their business.

The Impact: With over 50% of Pakistan’s population comprising of women, this partnership will allow women entrepreneurs to contribute to the GDP of Pakistan. It will also boost the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the women of Pakistan by allowing them to sell online in a prosperous manner as many women are barred from leaving the house and practice outside due to social constraints. The partnership will be especially beneficial in financially empowering such women.
