A large sculpture of national poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal was installed at Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, which has caught the eye of many and has become the subject of several memes quickly. A social media user posted a picture of the oversized bust with a caption criticizing its artistic accuracy. The post went viral in a span of a few hours, with Twitteratis bombarding the provincial authorities with the demands to replace it as soon as possible.

But it turns out that the sculpture was made in good confidence by well-meaning people. A local media report said that the statue was not the creation of a professional artist but an amateur tribute by the park’s gardeners to the national poet.
