Three suspects in Uzma Khan case granted pre-arrest bail at PKR 50,000 each

On Monday, a sessions court granted pre-arrest bail to two daughters and one relative of property tycoon, Malik Riaz, in actor Uzma Khan’s house storming and harassment case.  Daughters of Malik Riaz, Amber Malik and Pashmina Malik, and wife of Riaz’s sister-in-law’s son, Amina Usman, were present at the court alongside their legal representative. On 27 May, Defence police registered an FIR against them, wherein the women had allegedly stormed the private home of Uzma Khan and attacked her and her sister.  The lawyer, the President of the LHC Bar Association, representing the three women, argued that they were innocent and the police had implicated them without sufficient proof. As such, he requested the court to grant them pre-arrest bail, as there was unease surrounding the circumstances of their arrest by the police. The court has decided to grant interim pre-arrest bail until June 15, with the petitioners directed to pay bail bonds amounting to Rs. 50,000 each and to cooperate with the police investigation.
