A rare zonkey has been spotted in Kenya with its mother. A “zonkey” is a cross between a zebra and a donkey.
A wildlife charity called Sheldrick Wildlife Trust reported that the mother zebra had ventured beyond the boundaries of Tsavo East National Park and settled herself into a cattle herd. It was in this time period that the baby zonkey was conceived. With a light brown body, the only stripes the zonkey has are on its limbs however an ordinary zebra fowl does have stripes at birth. The zonkey fowl seems to be quite healthy and so does its mother. Since the birth of this hybrid fowl, both zonkey and its mother have been moved to Chyulu National Park.
