Kenya spreads awareness about Covid-19 through graffiti art

Kenya is spreading awareness about Covid-19 safety measures through graffiti art.

Six pieces of graffiti were made in Kenya and all served the purpose of public health messages. They include messages like “wash your hands,” “corona is real” alongside caricatures of the virus. Most of these pieces have been made with captions using local slang. This is all part of a campaign started by two graffiti artists who wish to battle misinformation about the virus in Kenya. It also educates the public on how they can protect themselves from the virus by practicing social distancing, washing their hands and using online payment methods instead of cash. The team also includes residents of the area who have been hired. The project, however, is self-funded. With the number of cases of Covid-19 reaching 300 in Kenya, this campaign is helping to curb the spread of the virus.
