Mahira Khan has said that she will march for the underprivileged women who are not in my position and who have not enjoyed the same luxuries as she has. She was the first of celebrities to speak up against Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and condemned his misogynistic remarks against Marvi Sirmed. She said that she was shocked and that giving him projects after projects makes the film industry as guilty as anyone else. She recently extended her support for the Aurat March 2020 by saying, “We don’t march for ourselves. We march for those who cannot march for themselves.” she wrote: “As a privileged woman I march for those who are not in my position, who don’t have the basic rights that I have enjoyed since I was born.”
I’m sure those who have been organizing the Aurat March are experienced, have been working for years for the cause of women..they have a better idea of what should and should not be done. I write out of pure observation. #WhyIMarch pic.twitter.com/D3AUQYM3Re
