Flydubai special flight: UAE pays ticket fare to bring Pakistani prisoners home

According to an embassy official, special flights from Dubai are to bring stranded Pakistani prisoners home.

The flight was scheduled to fly from Dubai to Faisalabad and Peshawar today. These flights will bring back Pakistanis who have been recently released from jails in the UAE or those who had committed petty crimes. The flight is due to arrive in Pakistan at 8.30 pm. According to sources, the tickets were paid for by UAE authorities and there are no regular travelers on this flight. More than 25000 stranded Pakistanis have registered with the Pakistani missions demanding to return home. An embassy official said, “It is a matter of days that the Pakistan government will start evacuating its stranded citizens from the UAE.” These stranded citizens mostly include those who traveled to the UAE on visit visas or those who lost jobs or cancelled work permits.
