A mosque in Ashok Nagar was set on fire late on Tuesday afternoon. A mob shouting “Jai Shri Ram” and “Hinduon ka Hindustan” paraded around the burning mosque, and a Hanuman flag was placed on the minaret of the masjid.
In video footage that has since emerged on Twitter, one of the mob is seen climbing up the minaret with an Indian flag in his hand. He attempts to pull down a section of the minaret but does not apparently succeed.

As violence against Muslims in India continues, there is a Pakistani lot that has helped trend Jinnah in Pakistan’s twitter trending. When you open the trend, you see thousands of tweets thanking Jinnah for making Pakistan. Some tweets are even quoting pictures from the Delhi riots with statements like, “Jinnah was a genius. Hepredicted the future of Muslims in India”. You ask what prediction did Jinnah really make? To answer that you’ll see dozens of pictures in the trend with Jinnah’s face and the words, “Muslims who are opposing Pakistan will spend rest of their lives proving loyalty to India.”
Mr Jinnah was a true genius if he actually foresaw the Indian fascists of future being given free reins in main cities and doing whatever they want to –

While there’s nothing wrong in thanking Jinnah for giving us Pakistan, but is it really the appropriate time to thank him? This should be the time to show solidarity for the Muslims that are being subjected to horrific violence in India. This should the time to condemn such acts of oppression and violence. This shouldn’t be a time for pointing out that Jinnah told you so.
