On Wednesday, unidentified gunmen shot dead a local Pakistan Muslim League-Noon leader in his hometown of Swat.
Feroz Shah was shot to death on Wednesday in Swat by armed unidentified assailants. According to Kanju police, Shah was on his way home after offering evening (Maghrib) prayers when he came across unidentified gunmen who were waiting for him during his route home. The assailants opened fire, leaving the local PML-N leader in critical condition. Shah’s personal guard was also severely injured during the incident. Following the shooting, both men were rushed to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital where Shah succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The police have since filed a report about the incident and are on the search for the culprits. Feroz Shah was an active leader of the PML-N party in Swat and was also the candidate of the National Assembly in the previous general elections. According to sources at the hospital he was being treated at, he had sustained several bullet wounds to his head.
