What Happened : In a landmark development, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, and Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood has announced Pakistan’s inclusion in the sellers’ list of the e-commerce giant Amazon. The Advisor tweeted a message by The commerce adviser from Amazon International Seller Services Vice President Eric Broussard to break the good news. The list of countries eligible to sell on the platform, which can be viewed here, has been updated to include Pakistan.

The Impact: Pakistani companies will now be able to create IDs using their Pakistani details, including Pakistani banks. Small and medium enterprises, youth, and women entrepreneurs will now have opportunities to connect with the global markets. Exporters to sell their products through the platform as it offers Amazon’s 3P model (third party relationship).
