An American hunter set a record by paying PKR 750 million to hunt a markhor in Chitral, marking the first trophy hunt of 2024.

The 11-year-old markhor, with 49.5-inch horns, was hunted in the Toshi-Shasha community game reserve.

Ronald Joe Whitton obtained the $271,000 permit from KP Wildlife Department and used an automatic rifle, with assistance from local community and wildlife officials.
