What happened: On Apr 27, a Baloch student named Bebgar Imdad from Turbat, an English Literature student at NUML University in Islamabad, was forcibly taken by men in plain clothes around 7.40 am. The incident occurred at Punjab University hostel where Imdad was staying to celebrate Eid holidays. Click here to see activists and journalists condemning his disappearance. Details: Eye witnesses stated that he was screaming, “Sir I’m a student,” but the men didn’t listen. The students present at the hostel claim that PU’s chief security officer assisted Imdad’s abduction and was equally involved in it. They confronted him and got his hesitant statement on camera too. Also: Another Baloch man, Dr. Dildar Baloch, currently doing his FCPS in Karachi has also been forcibly disappeared. Why it matters: Activist and lawyer, Jibran Nasir tweeted that after BLA claimed the suicide bombing in Karachi University, two more Baloch men were taken away by LEAs, “Authorities are law bound to present both men before Court of law within 24hrs if wanted for a crime,” he stated.
