Apple Watch can actually detect heart disease months before diagnosis, claims a TikToker

What happened: An Australian TikToker and a nursing student claimed that Apple Watch owners must enable their heart rate notifications to detect symptoms related to heart and thyroid diseases months before the actual diagnosis. As Express Tribune reported,  “iOS watch has helped many people wearing the watch detect heart conditions pushing them to seek immediate medical help.”

Details: Whereas, Lauren the nursing student, posted a few videos on the short video sharing platform urging the followers to monitor their heart rates. At the same time, Lauren’s experience was quoted by a publication as,  “She had thyroid, and she expresses regret at not turning on the notifications early, which would have saved her from facing medical consequences.”

More: At the same time, Lauren claimed that the Apple Watch cannot be relied on as a piece of medical equipment but can somehow help in early diagnosis. She said,  “If I realized it later to turn on my heart notifications and hence my late thyroid diagnosis, I would want everyone else to not make the same mistake, and things would have been different if my Apple Watch had alerted me of heart rate changes.”
