What happened: On February 9, the Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza turned down a plea by Meesha’s counsel seeking exemption from in-person appearance and issued bailable arrest warrants for the singer. The Lahore court issued the bailable arrest warrants against Meesha Shafi for the alleged involvement in running a smear campaign against Ali Zafar. However, the hearing was concluded and the court directed Meesha Shafi and others to appear before the court on February 19.
Details: It is pertinent to mention that Meesha Shafi’s counsel had filed a plea for exemption of in-person appearance in the hearing; while rejecting this plea, the Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza summoned her through bailable arrest warrants of 50,000 rupees. Subsequently, Fariha Ayub, Leena Ghani, Iffat Omar, Syed Faizan Raza, Haseemul Zaman showed up in the court. Previously, the FIA registered an FIR against Meesha Shafi, Ali Gul Pir, Iffat Omar and others on Lahore court’s order.
