China Rejects Reports Of Importing Pakistani Child Brides

On Wednesday, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad vehemently rejected a report from the American press that stated that China has been engaging in the trade of child brides from Pakistan.

According to a report from the Associated Press published on December 4th, almost 629 Pakistani girls were sold as child brides to China recently where they were exposed to acts of abuse, organised prostitution and organ trading amongst other things. Responding to the report, a spokesperson rom the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad made a statement saying “The Embassy would like to reiterate its clear position on the issue of transnational marriage.” The spokesperson further added “The Chinese government will protect legitimate marriages and combat crimes. If any organization or individual commits a crime in Pakistan under the banner of transnational marriage.” The Embassy official also added that due to the joint effort of the governments of the two nations, the issue of illegal marriage matching activity had majorly improved and that China would continue to remain beside Pakistan in this regard. In the statement, it was also mentioned that an investigation had been launched into these claims and that no evidence was found to corroborate them, further emphasising that no forced prostitution or organ trade had taken place. According to the statement, “The Chinese side also sent a task force to Pakistan to carry out law enforcement cooperation with the Pakistani side, which is proved to be very effective.” “It is clear that certain media has made groundless story again without full investigation and inrespect of the facts. Its intention is very suspicious,” the statement further read. “We will never allow a few criminals to undermine China-Pakistan friendship and hurt the friendly feelings between two peoples. We also hope that media reports should seek truth from facts.” Keep up to date with more news at ProperGaanda: Removal Of Bacha Khan University’s VC Demanded Due To Him Being Shia
