What happened: On April 10, which became a history for Pakistan and was noted to be one of the most dramatic days in the country’s political history, just minutes before the imposition of contempt of court, the Vote of No Confidence was initiated at the National Assembly. But, the turnaround of events was something to be noted here. It is pertinent to mention here that a trend on Twitter against the sacred armed forces of the country was initiated, and as previously claimed by the political commentators, “COAS Bajwa fully backed the Khan-led government, but during the crucial times, the Khan government was left alone and the Bayani of ABSOLUTELY NOT prevailed.” Things to note: Such trends against the country’s military were noted when Nawaz Sharif was sacked from the office, and the so-called bayania against the Pak Army continued, and trends on Twitter were seen. However, right after Khan was voted out from the office, the PTI’s social media team member Dr Arsalan was attacked. More than 30 thousand tweets with hashtags against the Pak Army were seen on Twitter and placards in protests saw severe writings against the military. However, the question which arises here is; “Was Khan really a back door project like others? Like NS? Like AZ?” But then, why take the “hand of Shafqat” out right before things took a turn. On the other hand, DG ISPR and the COAS have time and again prevailed the bayania of “Fauj has nothing to do with politics.” The Guardian’s report about martial law: The high sourced documents that were witnessed by The Guardian and quoted the incident then, “Imran Khan, who was ousted as Pakistan’s prime minister on Saturday, threatened to implement martial law rather than hand over power to the opposition. He attempted several moves to hold on to power in the days and hours leading up to the no-confidence vote.” On the other hand, high placed sources in Islamabad confirmed the news of helicopters roving over Bani Galal hours before the initiation of contempt of court, and the message from the top establishment was of “Khan to behave and act gracefully,” however, reports suggested Khan did not. What has happened in the past? Since independence, there have been reports about the military’s involvement in politics, especially in the elections. As is suggested by various reports, “Back door projects are a prime example of how politics in Pakistan works, such was an example of Nawaz Sharif and such is an example of Imran Khan who in major opinion proved to be a failed project.” Hence, the reports have noted that sacred institution’s name has been used over time to malign the country’s reputation; on the other hand, the DG and COAS have denied such reports and given a strong response, especially on April 9 and 10 incident.
