Dogs intentionally use facial expressions, such as raising their eyebrows to seem more appealing, particularly when they have human attention, according to research.

Contrary to past assumptions that animal expressions occur automatically, the study revealed that dogs’ expressions are purposeful, shaped by interaction with humans rather than the presence of food.
