Dua Mangi Kidnappers Demand Ransom Of $0.25 Million

Kidnappers alleging to be holding Dua Mangi hostage have now demanded a random of $0.25 million for her release on Wednesday.

According to reports, the ransom demand was made to Mangi’s parents via social media messaging app WhatsApp. The alleged kidnappers have contacted the family thrice over the course of three days demanding immediate payment. Mangi was kidnapped in the DHA region of Karachi near a restaurant at Bukhari Commercial on Saturday night by armed forces. During the altercation at the restaurant, the armed kidnappers shot Dua Mangi’s friend Haris Soomro. He is currently seeking treatment at a private hospital where his condition remains critical. This week, police arrested two students believed to have a connection to the kidnapping case. Law makers have said that this kidnapping may be an act of exacting revenge on Mangi. Furthermore, police also concluded on Monday that the car the kidnappers used to execute the crime was stolen from Karachi’s PECHS area last week. Inspector Aurangzeb Khan Khattak, the Station House Officer of the Ferozabad Police Station reported that a car was stolen from a trader named Danial Javed at gunpoint in the PECHS Phase 2 region of the city and it is this car that is suspected to have been used in the crime.
