What happened : 19-year-old Fatima Sana with her all-round performance spurred Pakistan national women’s cricket team record their second consecutive win in the ODI against West Indies. She was the player of the match and her performance is recorded to be the best ODI haul by a Pakistani in nearly eight years. The team defeated the hosts by 22 runs in the fifth and final ODI at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Sunday.

Details : Chasing 194 for win, West Indies were bowled out for 171 on the last ball of the match with right-arm pacer Fatima attaining 5-39 in seven overs which earned her second player-of-the-match award. She got Deandra Dottin (37 off 47 balls) and Britney Cooper (40 off 53) in her first spell, and later Rashada Williams (5), Chinelle Henry (14) and Anisa Mohammed (0) in the final over of the game. This is recorded to be the best ODI haul by a Pakistani in nearly eight years.

Fatima is also the recipient of the PCB Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2020 award. She finished the series with 11 wickets.
