Federal government plans to impeach President Arif Alvi on charges of ‘violating the Constitution’

What happened: PML-N-led federal government has hinted at impeaching President Arif Alvi,  “On charges of violating Pakistan’s Constitution and it would be a solid case.”  MNA and member of PMLN, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, in an interview with Express Tribune, claimed that the impeachment proceedings would start after Eid.  Details: Barrister Moshin Ranjha also claimed,  “Government would move ahead by tabling notices of Constitution’s violation on at least two occasions.”  At the same time, he claimed that the President of Pakistan violated Constitution on two occasions and said,  “previously, people would get Scott-free for violating the Constitution, but this time around, we will make sure it doesn’t happen.”  Why is he being impeached? Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s case is one example of the President of Pakistan violating the Constitution, as claimed by the Barrister. Subsequently another example is the ECP case, and Barrister Ranjha stated,  “If the President takes unconstitutional steps, he should be investigated in the parliament.”
