FIFA Continues To Support Normalisation Committee Despite Hayat’s Critique

Ex-PFF (Pakistan Football Federation) Chief Faisal Saleh Hayat told officials from the Punjab Football Association that the FIFA-appointed committee was ‘controversial, biased, and agenda-driven’. This is the first time he has spoken against the committee, however, it didn’t seem to bother FIFA. Hayat claimed he had voiced his reservations regarding the committee to FIFA and AFC (Asian Football Confederation) in a video uploaded online on Sunday, in which he also berated the body’s chairman Humza Khan.

AFC refused to comment as the Nationalisation Committee is FIFA-established, however, FIFA made it clear that Hayat’s comments changed nothing.

“As already mentioned, the Normalisation Committee has taken up its duties in line with its mandate and is fully supported by FIFA and the AFC,” a FIFA spokesperson told a private news source.
