ProperGaanda spoke to Rimmel Mohydin, Amnesty Internaitonal’s campaigner for South Asia on World Press Freedom Day.

Rimmel Mohydin is a human rights activist and free lance writer. She has campaigned extensively against the death penalty, campaigned for prisoner rights and Pakistani immigrant workers. While speaking with ProperGaanda on #WorldPressFreedomDay, Mohydin stated “Over the past year, there has been a noticeable increase in attacks on the right to freedom of expression in Pakistan. We have seen this in the form of regular columnists being refused publication, increased censorship and the heightened scrutiny of the editorial policies of many media outlets.”
