Hamza Ali Abassi, popular actor and well known supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf on Thursday night tweeted what we think was supposed to be a heartfelt message. The tweet was directed at the son of the soon to be released Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, but it came off as quite cringe worthy in the face of an already sensitive situation.
Hey lil champ! Ur dad is a soldier, be proud of him. We r sending him back to u. But whn u do hug him aftr he is back, ask him is war & death for Modi's political campaign worth it? Also ask him tht dont lil champs like u in Kashmir deserve to live in peace with thr dads? PEACE❤️ pic.twitter.com/UHttKp9M59

The bigger problem is that most twitteratis didn’t see a problem with this. Many praised Hamza Ali Abassi for the tweet.
Most heartwarming tweet I have ever seen

In what possible scenario can one image a child asking his father, an Indian soldier who has just returned home from Pakistan after being in custody if “war and death for Modi’s campaign is worth it?”
Non-sensical and unneeded commentaries on twitter have become Hamza Ali Abassi’s new thing recently. And this tweet is definetly an example of that.
Though not everyone was having it. This user called it like it is.
You need to be a special kind of asshole to be tweeting and asking a kid all these questions at least be civil and keep children out of your war mongering hate. Kashmir deserves Independence but you don't need to stoop to the level of those oppressors.

The problems in Kashmir are real. The right wing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is clearly escalating the situation to gain momentum for his 2019 re-election bid. The situation is critical indeed and Indian’s over zealous media and sensationalizing commentary is no help. But this is about a father returning home to his son. It is as simple as that.
Hamza Ali Abassi should probably take a cue or two from Prime Minister Imran Khan in.
