Here’s why masjid refused to announce Dua Zehra’s name

What happened: On Apr 21, parents of the missing girl, Dua Zehra were invited on Waseem Badami’s show, ‘Shaan-e-Ramazan,’ where they talked about how it’s been 6 days and their daughter is still nowhere to be found.  Details: Founder of Jafaria Disaster Cell Foundation, Syed Zafar Abbas Jaffri has been assisting the distraught parents in finding their daughter. When Badami asked Dua’s father, Mehdi Ali Kazmi whether he asked the masjid in his residential area to make the announcement to aware people of the missing girl, he said that the people over there refused to do so, “Unhone ne kaha inn naamon ka tou hum ailan hi nahi karte,” implying that Dua belongs to a Shia family.  What you need to know: Dua Zehra is a 14-year-old girl who went missing from outside her house on Apr 16, around 12.30pm. The seventh grader went outside to discard garbage and didn’t return. According to her mother, Dua’s grandmother lives across the street and the parents thought she must’ve gone over to her, but at 1pm, when Mehdi went to pick her up, the grandmother told him that she never came to her place.
