Imran Khan claims, ‘I never wanted to appoint Gen Faiz as next COAS’ 

What happened: In a unique appearance of, former prime minister Imran Khan shared that he had a very cordial relationship with the Pak Army, and  “I couldn’t even think about appointing an Army Chief against the rules of merit.”  Subsequently, Khan claimed that he never wanted to control the military, as  “I always had a clean record and nothing to hide from the public.”  Details: In the podcast with Junaid Akram, Muzamil Hassan TCM’s founder, Khan, further claimed that he had no authority to control the army in Pakistan and always respected the military. It is pertinent to mention that Khan’s statement comes when placards against the Army Chief have been seen in different Imran Khan’s speeches. Previously: As Gen Faez Hameez was appointed the head of Peshawar, there were speculations that as Khan’s close bid, his way was paved to become the next Army Chief. But the recent statements by Imran Khan have clarified that there was no such motive.
