What happened: The government of Punjab has announced to provide scooties, aka motorcycles, to all the lady polio workers, women health workers, and the working women in all government sectors. It is pertinent to mention that the development comes after the Punjab govt had reportedly instructed to provide electric scooties to all the female teachers in Punjab. Details: As Express Tribune quotes, “scooties will only be given to permanent women employees during the new financial year 2022-2023.” At the same time, it has been reported that 160,000 scooters will be provided to female government employees on a monthly installment basis. The monthly installments will be from 2500 rupees to 3000 rupees, depending on the employment status. More: Whereas, the distribution of these scooties will be started in August and completed by November. At the same time, the adviser to Chief Minister Malik Abrar Ahmed is quoted as, “Women have to face serious problems when they go to work from home.”
