We know these characters, we’ve met them at birthdays and even family dinners, and some of us might even be them! By studying her characters, we realise the little nuances we pick up on regarding certain characters we meet in society aren’t that subtle at all. In fact, they are so blatantly relatable that when they’re packaged into one bundle, we wonder how we missed them in the first place.
Swineryy sheds light on a character which we’ve all encountered, unfortunately-the desi f*ckboy.
If you’re not a desi f*ckboy, you definitely know one. They’re in abundance. And Swineryy’s character of the foreign returned f*ckboy is the epitome of a perfectly obnoxious desi f*ckboy. (Pardon the amount of times we’ve said the f word, but the character doesn’t has a name, so bear with us)
He’s from Pakistan, went away to study in Canada and now he doesn’t shut up about how good being “abroad” is
We’re introduced to this character with a video in which he’s talking about how he’s just landed in Pakistan and …’ f*ck allergies bro! ‘ From then onwards, our resident desi f-boy doesn’t shut up about all the good things Canada has to offer and just how backwards Pakistan is. He has forgotten he’s actually from Pakistan. He’s become that person whose only personality trait is that they’ve been to country other than their home country.
But what makes him a f-boy?
It’s not the constant obnoxious sniffing and the amount of times he says ‘bro’ and ‘f*ck’ in a sentence that makes him a f-boy. There are many layers to him. He’s the exact same insufferable person who won’t stop staring at you while you walk down the street. He’s the same gully boy who cat calls after any walking female form.
To understand him more, you need to know what a f-boy really is.
In short, someone who doesn’t respect women, but relies on their company heavily. He’s distant, doesn’t care about other people’s time, and won’t commit. He’s self-absorbed, does stupid things, and has a tendency to play with others’ emotions.
Swineryy’s character takes it a step further, because he’s a desi f*ckboy.
He’s the Ahmed from A levels who you talked to once and days later you found out he told everyone you led him on. He’s also the twitter user who goes by ‘ tHeDeVil’ continuously degrading women in real life while tweeting, “I support women rights.”
Even though he claims to be the most modern person out there because ‘ bhai abroad se hain ‘, deep down he’s the conservative brown man. He seems like someone who’d cheat on his wife but would loose his cool if his wife even talked to another man.
But why is he like that?
Our bet is that he is from a conservative middle class family, just like most of us. He’s scared of his father and is an ‘ammi ka ladla’ . He’s also probably the only son in the family. That might explain why he’s so entitled and spoilt. He’s still a good Muslim though and will not utter a word when the molvi’s saying the azaan, ‘ kyun ke ahteram.’
