Iran parades mobile hospitals instead of warplanes on National Army Day

Iran paraded medical gear instead of weapons on Friday in light of National Army Day to salute military efforts in combating the coronavirus pandemic.

“Defenders of the Homeland, Helpers of Health” The small “Defenders of the Homeland, Helpers of Health” parade took place at a training center before a group of commanders in face masks which was a refreshing change from the usual exposition of submarines, missiles and infantry.

“Due to health and social protocols, it is not possible to hold a parade of soldiers … The enemy now is hidden and doctors and nurses are [instead] at the frontlines of the battlefield,” President Hassan Rouhani addressed soldiers.
