The Security Cabinet convened today and on unanimous acceptance of all security elements, the Chief of Staff, the head of the Shin Bet, the Head of the Mossad, and the head of the National Security Council, it was decided that a mutual unconditional ceasefire that will go into effect at 2 am local time on Friday.
An Egyptian-mediated truce between Israel and Hamas began on Friday, but Hamas warned it still had its “hands on the trigger” and demanded Israel end the violence in Jerusalem and address the damages in Gaza Strip after the worst fighting in years. Welcome the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas that came into force this morning. It’s important that the cease-fire holds & violence ends. Terror is never and can never be the way. Only a political solution will bring lasting peace and security to all.

At the same time, people have wondered if the ceasefire will change Palestinian lives drastically, as Israeli settler-colonialism and apartheid regime remains pervasive.
Although a #Ceasefire agreement has brokered between #Israel and #Hamas, hundreds of Palestinians have lost their lives, homes and thousands of children will continue living with this trauma for their whole life. pic.twitter.com/Fc9dP1lVIg

Ceasefire between Israel and Philistine (hamas) is good & being welcomed in order to save the lives of common people. However a permanent & long term Political solution needs to be achieved.#ceasefire
