#JusticeForSatanLal: Hindu businessman killed in Ghotki for not giving up his land to ‘influential people’

What happened: On Feb 1, a Hindu businessman, Satan Lal, was shot dead in Ghotki, allegedly by powerful members of the Dahar community. Details: Lal’s friend, Mukhi Anil Kumar, told The Express Tribune, “Some individuals shot and killed Satan Lal during an inauguration of a cotton factory and flour mill on his land.” Police arrested ring leader, Bachal Dahar and his associates after the sit-in, accusing them of killing Lal. Previously, locals also organised a protest in front of the Daharki police station, urging the authorities to catch the perpetrators. According to DIG Police, Sukkur, the protestors have now vacated the highway. Lal’s video: Lal claimed in a video that went viral a few months ago , “They threaten to kill me, smash my eyeballs, and cut off my hands and feet. They’re requesting that I leave Pakistan. I am a citizen of this country and would prefer to die here rather than surrender.” Late Lal had petitioned Pakistan’s chief justice and other authorities for justice, citing persons who he believed were threatening to kill him.
