Kalyan Singh becomes Pakistan’s first Sikh citizen to obtain PhD degree

What happened: The 42-year-old Kalyan Singh has become the first Sikh citizen of the country to receive his doctorate PhD degree from the Punjab University in Lahore. MM News quoted the development,  “He(Kalyan Singh) completed his doctorate degree from Punjab University under the supervision of eminent Punjabi language researcher prof Dr Naveed Shehzad.”  Details: Kalyan Singh’s research article was related to Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion. He entitled his 600-page dissertation,  “The Philosophy of Humanity in Guru Nanak’s teachings.”  Kalyan Singh has also become the country’s first Sikh assistant professor and said that it is an honour to be Pakistan’s first PhD.
