The restoration of One Day International matches taking place in Pakistan is a significant development in the country’s involvement with international cricket.
“History will be made on Friday when Karachi will host the first ODI,” said Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. “We must thank the Sri Lankan team for touring us.”

Extreme security measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the Sri Lankan team and make them feel comfortable, as they return to play against Pakistan for the first time after the 2009 militant attack on the Sri Lankan team bus. Although none of their team members were killed, several were injured and civilians died.
Because of this, some prominent players will be skipping the tour for security reasons.
