Following the discovery of three young boys’ remains in Kasur, PM Imran Khan has issued a statement assuring civilians that the local police force’s inefficiency in preventing the murder and suspected rape of the missing children will not go unnoticed.
Protests had stormed the Punjab district on Wednesday, with locals filling the streets to riot against the lack of action and unending number of child abductions. Roads were blocked and tires were burnt as angry civilians chanted slogans against the police; many gathered around the Chunian police station to send out a clear message.
The PM tweeted out assurances that “those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task”.
He listed the list of actions already in effect, starting with the Kasur DPO being removed, suspending the DSP and SHO, and surrender of SP Investigation Kasur. See more: Kasur Shaken Once More As The Remains Of Three Children Are Unearthed
