Law enforcement officers of the Lahore police are being accused of mishandling her case, as well as aiding the perpetrators to help bury it. “The police officials arrested some people but helped them get released on bail after taking bribe from them,” she said. Apparently, two of the accused had not posted bail yet the police seemed reluctant to arrest them. One of the people she has accused of gang-raping her happens to be a police officer. She believes that the police is doing their level best to ensure nothing happens to their colleague. Apparently, the men had also made a video of the act – threatening to release it to the public should she speak the truth. She also added that the police had been pressuring her family to reach a settlement with the attackers. A spokesperson for the Lahore police have denied all allegations of bribery, and have stated that the investigation is going along by following the proper guidelines. The accused were on bail, and one of them who has not obtained it is currently on the run.
