Lockdown extended till 9 May as cases cross 11,000

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, issued a statement on Friday saying that the lockdown has been extended to May 9th in Punjab. The lockdown in Punjab has been extended to May 9th. He stated that the decision was made with “collective consultation” He also provided a run-down of what kinds of shops would remain open during the lockdown.
Buzdar sai that milk and yoghurt shops, karyana stores, tandoors and bakeries were allowed to be open from 2 am to 4 pm in accordance to Sehri timings. Opticians’ shops, bakeries, pesticides shops, seeds and fertilizer shops and auto workshops would remain open from 9 am to 5 pm. In keeping with social distancing directives, gatherings for Sehri and Iftari feasts have been strictly prohibited. The 20-point programme for congregational and Taraweeh prayers would also be followed with preventative measures as per SOPs.
