What happened: Lower Dir’s senior civil judge Jamshed Kundi was arrested by local police. Jamshed Kundi allegedly raped a woman of Lower Dir before blackmailing her. Lower Dir’s DPO confirmed the news of Jamshed’s arrest. At the same time, the woman victim was recovered by the police team from Jamshed’s residence. Subsequently, the civil judge was suspended by the Peshawar High Court. Local police have also taken a one-day physical remand of the accused.
Details: The FIR was registered at the Balamat police station. It stated that the judge had demanded extortion money from the woman victim. 1.5 million was demanded from the woman in return for getting her sister a job. However, on the 25th of November, Jamshed asked the woman to come to her house. At the residence, he served tea to the woman before raping her. DPO Irfanullah Khan quoted by a publication, “The medical report of the complainant has corroborated the rape.”
