What Happened: In a recent interview with Axios on HBO , at being questioned about the rise of sexual offenses in Pakistan over the past year, PM Imran Khan answered that “If a woman is wearing a very few clothes, it will have an impact on men unless they are robots,”.
This worrisome remark comes days after a child sexual-abuse case in a Madrassah against a well-known mufti.
Aftermath: His remarks regarding the steady increase of sexual offenses in Pakistan have understandably been met with condemnation from both inside the country and outside. Questions about whether he is a “misogynist” and “rape-apologist” are being raised.
My 2 questions to #ImranKhan
1)Women who wear burqas are also raped in our country. What attracts the non-robotic men there?
2)Infants,children are raped, what’s wrong in their dressing?
Pls,for once think & speak, Mr. PM. It is an insult to the victims what you say on intl media.— Ayesha Saeed (@Ayesha2Saeed) June 21, 2021
