Minister directed to renews passports of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar

What happened:   As the newly-elected PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif was appointed as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, reports suggest that the Interior Ministry has been directed to renew the passports of the party’s supremo. On April 12, during an Instagram live with ProperGaanda’s reporter @hkwattoo also suggested that there have been reports about the renewal of passports.  Details: The News quoted th development as,  “The federal government has also directed the Pakistan High Commission in London to take necessary steps for renewal of the passports.”  It is pertinent to mention that in 2019, the PML-N leader left the country for treatment. His passport had expired in 2022 February, after which only a special certificate would have helped the former PM return to Pakistan.  More: However, the Pakistan High Commission has been ordered to start working on the renewal of passports. Previously, it is pertinent to mention that the Imran Khan-led federal government had refused to renew the passport of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar.
