Minorities unsafe in Pakistan; Ahmadi community member stabbed to death in Rabwah

What happened:  Pakistan will be an inclusive country with an honest government, religious freedom, the rule of law and equality for all; this is what the founder of the country, Muhammad Ali Jinnah said. Fast forward 75 years, on August 12, a member of Pakistan’s Ahmadi community was stabbed to death in Rabwah, Jhang, Punjab.  Details:  Mubasher Bukhari for Reuters wrote,  “Allegedly for refusing to chant Islamist slogans, a community acitivst and police said.”  At the same time, Reuters quoted a spokesperson for the minority community,  “The accused approached Naseer Ahmad, 62, an Ahmadi by faith and asked him to raise slogans of an Islamist party. On Ahmad’s refusal, he repeatedly stabbed and killed him on spot.”  More:  It was reported that Naseer Ahmed was standing at the bus stop as he was travelling to pay his respects at a graveyard. Subsequently, Reuters quoted a police officer from Chiniot as,  “We are investigating the motive behind the murder, links to any Islamist party has not been found yet.”
