The Montreux Jazz Festival which was scheduled to take place in July in Switzerland has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The two-week festival along the Lake Geneva attracts a crowd of 250,000 people. The event includes a series of concerts, book fairs and other festivals. Social distancing measures The lineup for this year included musicians Lenny Kravitz and Lionel Richie, In light of Covid-19, large gatherings have been strongly discouraged. However, an event at this scale would be impossible to hold. The programme, however, will continue into next year’s festival which is due to take place from the 2nd to the 17th of July.
