Mount Fuji remains snowless in October, breaking a 130-year record

Mount Fuji’s iconic snow-capped peak, a magnet for tourists, remains bare for the latest date in recorded history, surprising visitors this year. For the first time in 130 years of recorded weather data, there’s no snow on the peak as of this October.

Unusually warm temperatures and heavy rainfall have delayed the arrival of snow, raising concerns about climate change, as these warmer conditions may be stopping the snow from falling when it normally does.
