Pakistan asks America to allow special flights to bring Pakistanis back home

Pakistan has requested to operate special flights to bring stranded Pakistani’s in the United States back home because of the lockdown.

The Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the PIA Air Mar­shal Arshad Malik wrote to the US embassy in Islam­abad to get permission to operate PIA special flights to bring back Pakistanis stranded in the United States. Due to the pandemic, flights and air traffic have been considerably reduced which has left thousands of people stranded all over the world. PIA has taken on the task of facilitating stranded citizens for which limited international flight operation has begun on a cost-basis. PIA is “airlifting” people of different countries at the request of their embassies. PIA also guaranteed that all safety and security protocols would be strictly adhered to. According to the CEO, PIA can operate flights to various cities in the United States including New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago on short notice.
