What happened: Mazhar Abbas, a 35 year old Pakistani-origin rider in UAE, returned a handbag filled with essential documents along with nearly 950,000 rupees. Mazhar was on his way to deliver food as he is a food delivery guy in Sharjah and found the purse on the road on February 4, along with an address in the purse of an American University of Sharjah.
Details: Khaleej Times quotes the 35 year old food driver as, “I made at least ten to 12 calls to the number that was available on the important documents.” However, he was not able to get a response, and then he dropped a WhatsApp message informing them that he had found the bag on the road. Lastly, he discovered another number that disclosed that the purse belonged to an Egyptian family who was distressed after the incident.
More: On the other hand, the Egyptian family is quoted, “When Mazhar called my mother, she was in a terrible state. We were all desperately searching for her bag everywhere.” Subsequently, reports suggest that the money in the purse was for the university fees and the Egyptian’s family head stated, “My mother burst into tears when the bag was returned to us. We are very grateful for what Abbas has done for us.”
