Police officer guarding polio team shot dead in Balochistan

What happened: Speaking to Dawn, on October 25, Pishin Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Yasir said that the unknown assailants attacked the vaccination team in the Pishin neighbourhood of Trat which ended up in the police officer who had been assigned to protect the team. Details: The polio team members were unharmed in the incident, according to Yasir. The deceased was identified as Constable Muhammad Hashim. His body was taken to Quetta for the medical and legal procedures.  What you need to know: The police have reportedly begun a search operation in the region to arrest the attackers, according to the DC. Attacks against polio vaccination teams are consistently witnessed in Pakistan. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district, in August of this year, two police officers protecting a polio vaccination team were fatally murdered by unidentified gunmen.
