A police officer was suspended on Tuesday for allegedly raiding a woman’s house, stripping off her clothes, and asking her to dance for him after she refused to become friends with him.
The bus hostess, a resident of Khanewal’s Makhdoompur, had alleged that the station house officer (SHO) wished to befriend her and persistently sent her indecent messages. The SHO, afraid of his messages being disclosed, carried out a raid at her house and seized her phone, she claimed, adding that he stripped her naked and told her to dance for him. Khanewal District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad consequently suspended the said SHO and assigned the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) for Saddar area to lead an inquiry into the matter. A forensic report of the incident would also be issued, Shahzad added.
