What you need to know: Farrukh Arshad, a 33-year-old Lahore School of Economics alumni, was abducted and killed by police officers identified as Ejaz, a Township police station officer; Hamza, a dismissed Dolphin Squad officer; and Muazam Bhinder, a Garden Town officer. On August 18, the suspects kidnapped Farrukh and took him to Flat No. 32, Sharif Plaza, Ichhra.
What More: Initially, it was reported that a young man had died after allegedly falling from the rooftop of a private apartment building. However, Farrukh’s family claimed he was murdered, and his body was thrown from the roof to stage a suicide. Two days earlier, Farrukh’s family had reported his kidnapping when they noticed his phone was off for hours.
Also: Police found his car in Model Town and later discovered his body near Sharif Plaza. Investigations revealed police involvement, leading to the arrest of three suspects, while another, a Dolphin Force constable, remains at large.
